This investment, financed by the PAC (Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento) of the Brazilian Federal Government, will be delivered over a period of ten years, with the first units scheduled for 2026.

The Guaicurus, a multi-task armored vehicle with 4×4 traction, was introduced into the Army fleet in 2022, following the delivery of 32 units purchased in 2019, each costing 1.5 million Brazilian reais.

Produced by Iveco Defence Vehicles and assembled in Minas Gerais, the LMV-BR weighs around eight tons, measures 4.86 meters in length, and 2.20 meters in width. Used in missions in Europe and the Middle East, the vehicle is considered light for a military armored vehicle.

Equipped with a 3.0 turbodiesel engine of 220 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission, it can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h. Permanent four-wheel drive and reinforced suspension ensure robust performance on rough terrain and even in water, with an amphibious capacity of up to one and a half meters deep.
